There are an estimated 1.1 billion young people ages 15-19 in our world today. That’s one out of every six people on the planet. According to UN reports, this age group is particularly vulnerable to the negative impacts of HIV/AIDS, drugs, poverty, violence, and discrimination. But that is not the whole story.
Teenagers, even those living in the most challenging situations, are a wellspring of intelligence, vitality, and creativity. They are a largely untapped source of hope and innovation for our communities and our future.
Activating the potential of youth
is
PYE Global's purpose.
WHAT WE DO
PYE Global partners with communities internationally to provide transformative programs for young people through a body of work called the Creative Community Model. We train program leaders and provide technical support in program design and implementation.
We also offer training and support on fundraising and organizational development. Click here for more.
PYE Global is currently partnering with local youth programs working in North America, Sub Saharan Africa, and England. Over the next several years we plan to expand our work by identifying key partners in five additional areas: Latin America, First Nations and Native American Communities, India/Nepal, and Palestine/Israel. GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Young people are our most vital resource for building
a positive, sustainable future.
- Youth are far more creative, compassionate
and capable
than many adults and
the mass media believe.
- The expressive arts provide potent tools for youth
to find their
voices and build connections across
cultures and generations.
- Youth thrive in the company of adults who
live passionate, engaged lives.
- Adults find renewed optimism and creativity
when they participate
in learning environments
where young people blossom.
- Identifying and training social artists to be
skilled conveners of intergenerational, multicultural
learning events is a powerful lever for social change.
