PYE partners with organizations around the world in order to enhance already established youth programs. We train their staff and networks in creative ways to engage youth, and together we design youth programs and camps based on the Creative Community Model. Our partners understand the local context and adapt our model to best meet the needs of youth in their regions.

Power of Hope

Founded by PYE co-founders Charlie Murphy and Peggy Taylor in 1996. Power of Hope serves youth in Washington State and British Columbia with arts/empowerment summer programs, winter retreats, and in-school programs. Power of Hope trains youth workers, teachers, artists, and volunteer in ways to use the arts in working with youth.

Culture Jam

Founded in 2000 by the Oregon Country Fair in Eugene, Oregon with assistance from Power of Hope. Culture Jam runs one week-long camp each summer at the Oregon Country Fairgrounds. Culture Jam
also runs occasional winter programs for youth in Eugene and trainings for adults.

Young Women Empowered

PYE serves as an incubator and fiscal sponsor for Young Women Empowered (Y-WE), a leader/mentorship program for teen women in the greater Seattle area. The program includes young women ages 14-18 and adult mentors from a wide range of cultures, religions, and life situations.   For more information click here

INDIA

Dream a Dream

Founded in 1999, Dream a Dream seeks to empower children from vulnerable backgrounds by developing life skills through arts and sports programs. Through using local volunteers, they also actively work to create a non-discriminatory society where unique differences are appreciated.  Through our partnership, Dream a Dream plans to scale their life skills program with training and support from PYE to increase their reach from 3000 youth per year to 240,000 in three years.

Founded by a community group in London with the support of PYE in 2007. LIFEBeat is now an independent UK Charity that offers week-long summer programs and winter reunions for youth, and trainings for adults in ways to use the arts in working with youth.  PYE and LIFEbeat are working in partnership to train a core group of lead facilitators and to scale the Creative Community Model in the UK.

UGANDA

In Movement

In Movement: Art for Social Change implements an arts education program for disadvantaged and orphaned children and youth in Kampala, Uganda. Through our partnership, In Movement has adopted the Creative Community Model as a core part of their program.  PYE is working with In Movement to train lead facilitators to offer training and support to the youth serving sector in Kampala and other parts of Uganda.

Agrifirma

Bahia, Brazil

Agrifirma is a private agricultural company with farmlands in Brazil.  In 2011 PYE partnered with Agrifirma within their core values of sustainability and environment to develop and implement a community program for the benefit of their employees and the communities where they operate in North-Western Bahia.  In the same year Agrifirma, with PYE’s support, offered an adult training followed by a 5-day youth camp for 45 youth to become creative leaders in their communities.
