David Kafambe is a professional social worker and the Program Manager of Youth Truck, a mobile service for children and youth supported by the Germany Foundation for World Population (DSW). Youth Truck engages children, youth, and the general public throughout Uganda in community sensitization and mobilization around issues that affect young people. They also train district officials, community service organizations, and care-givers regarding such issues as children’s rights, child trafficking, holistic psychosocial support, and effective approaches for working with children and youth.
David is an experienced facilitator, communicator, and public speaker who thrives in a dynamic, fluid environment. He is pragmatic and focused and is particularly skilled in analyzing challenges and developing innovative solutions. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Social Work and Social Administration and an International Diploma in Youth Work from Froebel Academy Germany. David began training with PYE Global in 2007 and has provided lead facilitation at many PYE related youth programs and adult trainings. He has attended several training programs in Africa and Europe, most recently a one-month certification course in Medical and Psychosocial Services for Children focused on children living in especially difficult circumstances, organized by Save the Children Sweden and funded by Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) in Stockholm, Sweden.
