Gina Sala is a vocalist, social artist, and facilitator who has led arts- and music-based events for youth and adults for the past fifteen years. With deep respect for her teachers worldwide and a song repertoire that spans 23 languages, she has facilitated arts-based intercultural and interfaith programs at the United Nations, during the Dalai Lama’s visit to Seattle in 2008, and in countries such as Egypt, Bali, Japan, Mexico, the US, and Canada.
Gina’s interfaith work stems from life experience. She grew up in a Hindu ashram, attended Christian churches, lived in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, and sings Arabic, Muslim, and Jewish prayers. She has led several trips for adults to India, Egypt and other destinations to study sacred and indigenous music.
Gina has been performing internationally and leading a band for nearly 20 years. She engages her audiences in singing songs from diverse cultures and songs that soothe and inspire. Her performances include a nine-month stint as lead vocalist for Cirque du Soleil's Las Vegas show "O", as well as clubs, festivals, and other venues in several countries.
Gina has worked with multiple youth organizations teaching song writing and vocal improvisation, and helping youth find the confidence and power to share their voices. She has also served as a teaching artist and lead facilitator for Power of Hope for many years. Gina’s passion is empowering people--especially youth--to share the power and passion of their unique voices, to listen from the heart, and to experience the joy of connecting authentically in our shared humanity in spite of apparent differences. From this, everything is possible, and the world becomes more wonderful for all.
