Susan Bamutenda is the Administrative Coordinator of In Movement: Art for Social Change, a Kampala-based NGO that provides arts-based education to disadvantaged and vulnerable children. In Movement’s programs promote self-expression, self-esteem, imagination, and psychosocial healing and prepare youth for creative, informed engagement in society. Susan helps design and lead In Movement’s intensive art camps. She refines and implements their ongoing youth programs and disseminates In Movement’s creative teaching methods through teacher training workshops.

Susan has extensive experience in the performing arts. She earned a degree in Dance, Organizational Studies, and Communication Skill and has a diploma in Music, Dance, and Drama from Makerere University in Kampala. She also has a diploma in Amateur Theatre from Klaipeda University in Lithuania. Susan began her facilitation training with PYE Global in 2007 and regularly provides lead facilitation at PYE related youth programs and adult trainings. Susan spent her childhood in Kenya and Uganda.

“My dream is to see more and more young people empowered through arts-based programs that are fun, engage their creativity, and enhance their skills as change agents—leading them to live more meaningful lives and bring about a better world!”
